Las Palmas in Gran Canaria has been selected as one of the host cities for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
It was announced in October that Spain, Morocco and Portugal will be joint hosts for the football tournament, with the three opening matches to be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.
Spain’s RFEF football federation has put forward 11 venues, including in Gran Canaria. The others are in Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, San Sebastian, Zaragoza, A Coruna and Bilbao.
Morocco will provide six venues and Portugal three for the 2030 World Cup, which will take place in June and July 2030.
